It is not political mileage gain…

It is not political mileage gain… One would be VERY mistaken to think that airing of Kitui drought situation is political bound. Such thoughts by anyone are against people’s welfare and aim of devolution at the same time. It should not be a blame game of who has done or not done what but it should be a wake up call for both county government and National government. I believe our leaders and more so county leaders will address at this positively and action.

COVID-19 & after, we shall overcome but we have a role...

Well, I know this being subject in the globe we have more to discuss.  However, let me incline to faith matters. From the day that a mother shakes her head at her baby and says to them, “No, no,” that child begins to learn that there are some things they should not do. As they grow older, they learn that there are some things which they may be tempted to do, but which they know they should not do; and there are other things which they should do, and they are tempted to neglect doing. If children persist in being disobedient, there comes a time when even the most patient father must discipline them. In fact, it is the duty of parents who love their children to be kind enough to chastise them when they need it, for the good of the children in time to come. I will not say you are blind or not sensitive if by now nothing has struck your mind to go beyond natural life to begin thinking about our Christian lives for those who identify ourselves as such.  God, who is also a kind and loving F

Dear Varsity Student...

Dear Varsity Student… I do not know who you are, I do not know your name or where you come from, but I have been where you are. I have traveled the journey you are already in. You will most probably not see me giving any speech during your events. You may not see me at all, or know me for that matter, so I decided to write you this letter instead. First of all congratulations for making it this far, trust you me it’s no mean feat. You now hold your destiny in your hands. Not many people get that chance, the chance to be the author of their book; your own life, which I believe you are still will remain to be. Varsity life is a journey, and the map as to where it leads is completely in your hands and in your control. I am going to tell you what most people will not tell you. What most people will sugar coat or disguise in vague terms while giving you speeches or advising you. So permit me to be real with you. Ideally, nothing really prepares you for University life. Nothing p

... .I was in my fourth year when I was told that I didn't do a unit in first year. This sounded ironical yet painful! "How would I be in fourth year without having done a unit in first year?  How did I  proceed to second year?" Haddaseh  (not real name)  narrates.. One would ask, why was the matter not raised then? Who slept on their job? Do we have the right system in our universities? Are we  punishing our students for the faults that can that be corrected/avoided? Dear Governor Elect Kitui County,Hon Charity Kaluki Ngilu. First & foremost i want to congratulate you for clinching the hotly contested Gubernatorial Seat in Kitui County. The people of Kitui have faith in you and hence chose & entrusted with resources of their county. It may be early to highlight what am about to but since you are familiar with the county allow me to. All through your campaigns, water problem  was one of the key issues you promised to address. For many years people of Kitui have suffered in the hands of poor leadership; many promises but none implemented. We believe in you  Mama &  in the next five years, hope our children & mothers will not be trekking for 30 kilometers in search for water.  Kitui County  will be a place  with accessible clean water & passable Roads. Congratulations Mama Ngilu Published on August 11th, 2017 Water problem has not been a breaking news in Kitui County. To residents of Endau this has been a

Bandits in Kitui

Image
Kitui residents have on  repeated occasions been attacked by bandits from neighboring county, Tana River. These attacks can be dated back in 1990s and many people have lost lives, livestock stolen and other heinous acts. Captioned pictures and video is just a glimpse of what these residents in Endau and environs and Mwingi go through every other time. Residents think that both county and national governments have put little weight on the matter and call upon authorities to action. Unconfirmed reports have it that yesterday someone was shot at Mithumulani.
